Kew Green Preparatory School is an independent co-educational prep school in London, educating children aged 2–11 and part of the Gardener Schools Group. Having already worked with the Group on the Maida Vale School website, we were delighted to be trusted once again to bring the same level of craft and care to KGPS — designing and building a bespoke new website that reflects the school’s warmth, ambition and outstanding academic reputation.
A Homepage That Makes an Unforgettable First Impression
First impressions matter enormously for a school website. Prospective parents are making one of the most important decisions of their child’s life, and the homepage needs to immediately communicate the school’s character, values and quality.
The new KGPS homepage does exactly that. An immersive hero video draws visitors in from the moment they land, capturing the energy and spirit of school life at Kew Green. As users scroll, a carefully considered layout introduces the school’s core values — Curiosity, Creativity, Confidence and Collaboration — paired with rich imagery and smooth animations that keep the experience feeling dynamic and engaging. Clear signposting to key areas like Open Events, the Curriculum and Admissions ensures prospective parents can quickly find what they’re looking for, without ever feeling overwhelmed.
Showcasing the Breadth and Ambition of the Curriculum
For any independent school, the curriculum page is one of the most important on the site. It’s where parents come to understand what makes the school’s academic offering distinctive, and why it justifies the investment.
We designed a clean, easy-to-navigate Curriculum page that clearly presents the breadth and ambition of the KGPS academic programme. Subject areas are laid out in a simple, accessible format that works beautifully across both desktop and mobile, allowing parents to quickly identify the subjects they want to learn more about and navigate through to dedicated subject pages. From English and Maths to Drama, Philosophy and Forest School, the design makes it easy to appreciate just how rich and well-rounded the KGPS curriculum really is.
A Smooth, Reassuring Admissions Journey for Prospective Parents
The Admissions section is arguably the most commercially important part of any school website. It’s where interest converts into action, and we designed this area to be clear, reassuring and friction-free, guiding prospective parents through everything they need to know about joining the school.
The main Admissions page walks families through the process step by step, from attending an open event and understanding entry requirements, through to registering their child for a place. A sticky sidebar keeps navigation to related pages always close at hand, ensuring parents can explore topics like fees, bursaries and destination schools without losing their way. The journey culminates in a dedicated Register Your Child page, complete with a straightforward online registration form that makes taking that all-important first step as easy as possible.
Keeping Parents Informed with News and Live Instagram Integration
Keeping prospective and current parents engaged requires a steady flow of fresh, relevant content, and the News section of the KGPS website is built to make that effortless.
The school’s marketing team can quickly publish articles, stories and updates, giving parents a genuine window into school life throughout the year. From public speaking competition wins to school productions and swimming galas, the News area brings the school’s culture and achievements to life in a way that static pages simply can’t. To keep the section feeling even more current and vibrant, we also integrated the school’s Instagram feed directly into the site, automatically pulling in the latest posts from the KGPS account so there’s always something fresh to discover, with no extra effort required from the team.
