Maida Vale School
Maida Vale School is an independent co-ed school in London and part of the Gardener Schools Group
Gardener Schools contacted us as we had worked previously with their marketing manager on another school website project. With that recommendation in place they were keen to work with us to totally overhaul the UX and design of the Maida Vale School site, whilst at the same time making it much easier for the school’s marketing team to manage the site internally moving forward.
Immersive, modern school website design
We planned and crafted a bespoke school website that features a short initial introductory sequence which disolves to reveal the new Maida Vale School website. The modernised design is true to the schools identity and the homepage features an immersive video front and centre. This coupled with subtle animations as the user scrolls down the page helps make the new school website as engaging as possible.
The academic experience
Allowing prospective parents to see an outline of Maida Vale’s academic offering was key. We created a simple layout that utilises iconography to list out all the subject areas. This translates very well to mobile, making it quick and easy for visitors to find the subject areas they are looking for further information on.
Ability to tell stories…
The news area of any school website is critical as it needs to allow the marketing team to quickly and easily create content and upload images so prospective parents get a good feel for whats going on inside a thriving school.
The new Maida Vale School website also has a “Headmaster’s Blog”, allowing their head to publish thought-leadership pieces and for users to filter posts by category.
Easy to explore content pages
Maida Vale School can now easily add new pages to the website themselves, as we created a simple content page layout that utilises a sticky sidebar displaying links to pages within that particular section of the website. This allows Maida Vale School to create whole new areas and sections within their new website if they wish.
Within the main content area we ensured that many different content types are accomodated, from quotes to tables, accordions to galleries and more – all of this flexibility gives Maida Vale School the ability to take full control of their site and content moving forward.
