Sound Pop Academy

Feature-rich membership website for a fresh and exciting performing arts group for young people

Sound Pop Academy is a performing arts and singing group for young people aged 2 to 17, running weekly academy sessions across Southampton and Hampshire. With three distinct academy groups catering for different age ranges, a growing membership base and big ambitions, Sound Pop needed a website that could do a lot more than simply look the part. We designed and built a bespoke WordPress website that combines a bold, energetic brand presence with some genuinely powerful functionality, from a custom taster session booking system through to a fully featured members area.

Launch website

A Homepage Built to Engage Parents and Rank on Google

First, it needs to immediately communicate what Sound Pop Academy is and get parents and children genuinely excited about it. Second, it needs to perform strongly in Google search results to bring in a steady flow of new enquiries.

A location search sits front and centre on the homepage, making it immediately easy for parents to find their nearest academy without having to hunt around the site. From there, the page introduces the three academy age groups, brings the Sound Pop brand to life with vibrant imagery and testimonials from real parents, and answers the most common questions prospective members tend to have. The result is a homepage that works hard on every level, capturing attention, building confidence in the brand and driving parents to take the next step.

Frictionless User Journey from Search to Booked Taster Session

Getting a child through the door for a taster session is the single most important conversion goal for Sound Pop Academy, so we put real thought and care into making that journey as simple and enjoyable as possible.

Parents start by searching for their nearest academy location. They are then presented with a list of relevant academy locations, each of which they can click into to find session details and availability. From there, a custom-coded booking form allows them to reserve a spot on a taster session quickly and easily. The form was built entirely bespoke, giving the Sound Pop team complete control over taster session availability and capacity, without relying on any third-party booking tools. The whole process is intuitive, straightforward and puts parents in control from start to finish.

A Smooth Online Sign-Up Flow for New Members

If a child loves their taster session, the next step is joining as a full member. Sound Pop’s sign-up flow was designed to make this process feel easy and exciting rather than like a chore.

Parents receive a link to the sign-up journey, where they can select the relevant academy for their child and choose between a Standard or Sibling membership level. From there, they complete their subscription online and set up their child’s login credentials, which will give them access to the members area of the website. The whole flow is clean, logical and handles the administrative side of joining in a way that requires minimal effort from both the parent and the Sound Pop team.

A Packed Members Area to Keep Children Engaged Between Sessions

Once signed up, children and their parents get access to a secure, personalised members dashboard that goes far beyond a simple login page. It is a proper hub designed to keep members engaged, motivated and excited about their next session.

Inside, members can access songs with multiple vocal parts to practise at home, download lyric sheets and watch choreography videos so they can nail their moves before the next session. A Help and Guides section supports members with anything they need, while a simple online shop allows them to browse and purchase Sound Pop merchandise. There is also a Workshops section showcasing upcoming events members can attend. It is worth noting that Sound Pop’s own teaching staff can also log in to the members area to download music for use during sessions, making it a genuinely useful tool for the whole organisation.

Three Dedicated Academy Landing Pages, Built to Rank and Convert

With three distinct academy groups for different age ranges, Sound Pop needed three dedicated landing pages that could clearly explain what each group offers and, just as importantly, attract parents searching for singing and performing arts classes for children of a specific age on Google.

Each page covers how the relevant academy works, what a typical session looks like, the benefits for children and how to get started. Alongside the informational content, each page has been carefully optimised to rank well for searches like “singing classes for 2-5 year olds” and equivalent terms for the other age groups. This means the pages serve a dual purpose: they convert curious visitors into enquiries, and they quietly work away in the background driving organic traffic from parents who are actively searching for exactly what Sound Pop offers.

A Blog That Drives Traffic and Tells the Sound Pop Story

The Sound Pop Academy blog gives the team a flexible space to publish content that serves a range of purposes, all under one roof.

On one hand, it is a place to share behind-the-scenes stories, celebrate performances and keep the community informed about upcoming workshops and events. On the other, it is a valuable SEO asset, with evergreen articles written to attract organic search traffic from parents who might not yet know Sound Pop exists. A great example is the post “What’s the best age to start a child in Singing and Dance?” which targets a question parents are actively searching for and naturally introduces them to the Sound Pop Academy offer. The blog is easy for the team to manage and update themselves, ensuring it stays fresh and continues to deliver value over time.
