Find out how we designed and developed Fernhill Hotel’s new website to increase bookings and give them a platform on which to showcase their hotel and grow their business.
The Fernhill Hotel in Charmouth, Dorset, contacted us to revamp their dated website and give them a platform on which they could promote their business. The old site wasn’t mobile-friendly and as a result many potential bookings were slipping through the cracks.
We created a bespoke website design for this stylish, 10 bedded hotel. The website appeals to both prospective hotel guests and locals who can pop-in for morning coffee, use the restaurant for lunch and dinner or afternoon tea. The homepage allows easy navigation to find out more about the hotel, the rooms on offer, the food and drink, group bookings and things to do in the local area.
The ‘sticky’ header makes it super easy to access the site’s navigation as you scroll and to get to the integrated booking widget.
The rooms page gives a great overview of the hotel’s rooms and related images, elegantly displaying all the options available.
The site was built on WordPress and needed to be easy for mobile users to enable booking with limited browsing. Having the ability to make a booking whilst staying on the website was an important consideration and the booking page allows users to select dates, check availability and make a booking without leaving the site.
Fernhill also have the ability to easily publish content in a blog section of the website. This helps drive traffic to the site and gives potential guests a good overview of the local area and attractions.
It’s been a real pleasure working with Fernhill on this project and we are delighted to be continuing to work with them keeping the site healthy and secure on a monthly basis.
